The King of Beers is now a Belgian…

2008 July 14
by Shawn Horton

I certainly saw this coming- when inBev received a consideration by Anheuser-Busch a few weeks ago. It was not so much that the corporation was against the initial offer, but that it thought it was worth more money. And as expected, everyone and everything has a buying price- for Anheuser-Busch it was $52 billion, or just over $70 per share. The current operations will remain as they are, with all 12 brewery locations in America still operating at full capacity. The Saint Louis location will be inBev’s American headquarters.

Now with Stella Artois, Beck’s, and Bass as members of the inBev corporation, there’s a chance that the former King of Beers might actually have a chance at tasting better.

UPDATE: CNN has an article about this acquisition. Little bit bitter, are you Southerners? It’s okay. Bud is not that good anyway.
