As the token Madison, Wisconsin contributor to The Beer Genome Project, I thought it would be fitting to start off with a post on one of the beer gems of the city.  Ale Asylum is a small brewery situated just off a highway in an industrial park.  I visited for my third time during an annual pig roast.  The atmosphere is  contemporary with bold colors and decor.  To go with the pork, I got a pint of their tasty scotch ale, Sticky McDoogle.  In all, it was a great day of beers, sun, and pork.  If you ever are in Madison, this is a great place to visit.  Also, along with their beer, the pizza is also amazing.  Ale Asylum beer is for sale in bottles and on tap throughout Madison and Milwaukee so keep an eye open.  I especially recommend their IPA (Ballistic) and their oatmeal stout (Big Slick.)  I’m planning on taking a tour of the brewery soon so look for some video and pictures in an upcoming post.
