Jason and I decided to try out this great Belgian-style strong dark from Unibroue in Chambly, Québec. This was Jason’s first experience with a Belgian strong dark, and he was brave to jump into such a potent style. During the week, it’s hard to coordinate schedules with all the people who want to sit down and review a beer. I stopped down to Rosemount, where I met Jake and Mike to review a favorite brew of mine, Avery’s “Collaboration not Litigation.”

This is the first on-camera review for both Jake and Mike, so give them credit for being quick with tasting notes on the fly.

Mike Visits the Happy Gnome

Mike and I visited The Happy Gnome during the holiday season. I showed Mike his first true Belgian Ale, the Tripel Karmeliet by Brouwerij Bosteels. I tried the “The Devil Made Me Do It” by Tyranena Brewing (a Russian imperial coffee porter), and the Delirium Noël by Brouwerij Huyghe (a Belgian strong dark ale).
